Water & Sewer Utility
The Water Utility manages, operates, and maintains wells, storage tanks, distribution piping, and fire hydrants within the Township.
Sparta Township now accepts credit card payments for water, and sewer bills, as well as property taxes and garbage (solid waste) bills. There is a service fee assessed by the third-party vendor for the processing of any such transactions. The Township does not receive any portion of these monies as relates to this service payment option. Therefore, the municipality cannot waive or reduce this transaction fee for any reason.

Water Utility Rate Changes
Water Utility Rate Changes Effective January 1, 2026, water rates have changed from $4.73 per 1,000 gallons of water consumption to $4.85 per 1,000 gallons of water consumption.
Sewer rates remain the same.
A Water Capital Improvement Fee of $20.00 was implemented for all water meters effective the 1st Quarter Billing of 2025, and continues with future billing cycles in conjunction with new water service rates.
